Jack was the son of Herbert E and Amy Fish of North Lodge, Paxton Park St Neots Huntingdon. In 1901 the family were living at 7 Bennett Street Hanover Square Westminster. Herbert was the proprietor of Chambers Lodging house and his wife Amy and son Jack were living at the address along with three lodgers and two servants.
In 1911 Jack was a boarding student 13 years of age at St Cuthbert's College Sparken Hill Worksop.

He served with the 10th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment. He was gazetted 21st August 1915 as a temporary second lieutenant. He first saw a theatre of war in France on 26th May 1916 and within two months was killed in action. He is buried in A.I.F Burial Ground Flers Somme, France Grave Reference: XV K 32
