Brothers:John Ernest, born in 1881 at Radford and working as a grocer's assistant and William Robert, born in 1883 and working as a cycle electro-plater. Sisters: Catherine Margaret, born in 1887 and working as a lace pattern maker, Edith lacey, born in 1889 and working as a lace jennies, Beatrice, born in 1897 and working as a hosiery finisher and Louie, born in 1899. All the children were born in Sneinton. The family lived at 104 Manvers Street, 18 Loughborough Avenue and finally 13 Finsbury Avenue, Sneinton Dale, Nottingham.
James Archie Harris worked as a warehouseman.

Pte. Harris enlisted on 06/11/1914 at Nottingham, and following training he was drafted to France on 27/02/1915. The battalion was involved in fighting in the Zillebeke area of the Ypres Salient, and Pte. Harris was killed in action on 09/09/1915. he was buried at Hedge Row Trench Cemetery.
