Early Years

Nottinghamshire Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership (EYDCP) was set up in 1998 and brings together local partners to:

  • develop and deliver free early years education for three-and-four-year-olds
  • develop childcare services for children under 16
  • help to deliver Sure Start services.

Members include childcare providers, maintained and independent schools, local employers, health services, voluntary organisations, Ofsted, Nottinghamshire County Council, Learning and Skills Council and Jobcentre Plus.

Nottinghamshire County Council is responsible for providing leadership, planning services, co-ordinating the way services are delivered and consulting children, parents and carers. It is also responsible for managing finances and monitoring performance.
