Annual Performance Assessment rates the County Council’s Children and Young People’s Services as “good”
The County Council’s Children and Young People’s Services department has now received details of the Ofsted judgements following the Annual Performance Assessment (APA) of its services in 2008.
The overall assessment of the effectiveness of the department’s services is ‘good’. This is an improvement on the 2007 rating.
Anthony May, the County Council’s Corporate Director for Children and Young People’s Services, said; “These results are very good indeed and reflect a real team effort across all our services”.
The APA letter from Ofsted is viewable online.
Changes to the child maintenance system
Important information regarding the changes to the child maintenance system in Great Britain and the new Non-Departmental Public Body responsible for administering it - the Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission - have been announced.
Nottinghamshire Children and Young People’s Partnership works to provide services for all children and young people in Nottinghamshire to improve their life chances and to help them maximise their potential.
In delivering this vision for Nottinghamshire we will provide services to help children and young people to:
Be Healthy - enjoying good physical, sexual and emotional health, through living a healthy lifestyle.
Stay Safe - protected from harm, neglect, bullying, serious accidental injury and crime.
Enjoy and Achieve - academically and socially, through play, leisure and recreation, as well as within school.
Make a Positive Contribution - to the community and society, developing self-confidence and being involved in decision making.
Achieve Economic Wellbeing - taking up employment, training or further education opportunities.
We are committed to improving what we do for children and young people by working together and delivering co-ordinated and integrated services.
Prevention and early intervention is of central importance to our partnership work and we will regularly review our activity to make this a reality in Nottinghamshire.
