Share your images from next week’s OVO Energy Tour of Britain in Nottinghamshire to be in with a chance of a fantastic prize!

The county will be the focus for millions on Wednesday 6 September when ITV4 screens the Nottinghamshire stage of the Tour of Britain – one of all eight stages to be screened for the first time on television.

One lucky person who captures the day on camera and shares their image using the #nottstob hashtag will win a fabulous prize at the Holme Pierrepont Country Park, home of the National Water Sports Centre. It’s a voucher for two people to enjoy a white water tubing experience and another activity of their choice for two plus an overnight stay with breakfast at the centre. Councillor Kay Cutts, Leader of Nottinghamshire County Council said: “This is a historic occasion – the first time an entire stage of the Tour of Britain is set to be hosted here in Nottinghamshire and also the first time it will be broadcast live.

“We anticipate this event will generate lots of interest on social media and we encourage everyone to share photographs online that they take from this special day to be in with a chance of winning this fantastic prize.

“The waiting is almost over and photographs will also provide cherished memories to remember from the day Nottinghamshire welcomed a full stage of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain.” 
 
The event will be unique opportunity to promote Nottinghamshire for tourism and inward investment. It’s estimated the economic benefits to the local economy will be around £500,000, based on the impact seen in other locations when hosting the start or finish elements of the race in previous years. 
 
Famous Nottinghamshire landmarks such Sherwood Forest, Rufford Abbey, Southwell Minster and the DH Lawrence Birthplace museum will be showcased during the race, along with the hard work and creativity shown by local schools and communities who are transforming the route with bunting, yellow bikes and flags as well as various land art creations.

Recently crowned European Champion Alexander Kristoff, World Time Trial Champion Tony Martin and Team Sky’s Michal Kwiatkowski, plus multiple British Time Trial Champion Alex Dowsett are all taking part in the OVO Energy Tour of Britain, while British duo Mark Cavendish and Geraint Thomas are expected to ride and should both recover from their Tour de France crash injuries in time. 
 
The OVO Energy Tour of Britain is British Cycling’s premier road cycling event, giving cycling fans the opportunity to see the world’s best teams and riders competing on their door step, taking place between Sunday 3 and Sunday 10 September 2017.
