Nottinghamshire County Council Chairman Councillor John Handley will be supporting two local schools this week.

He will attend a school council meeting at Brinsley Primary School on Tuesday afternoon in Brinsley. The school council is held monthly, and one of the items on the agenda will be a forthcoming visit to County Hall in March for the school as part of a flag raising event for the Commonwealth where children from the school will sing.

On Friday lunchtime he will host a school council visit for Langold Dyscarr Primary School at County Hall, in West Bridgford.

Around 20 members of the school council will tour County Hall and take part in a question and answer session with the Chairman and find out more about how local democracy works.

Elsewhere, the Chairman will be at a Citizenship Ceremony in Worksop on Thursday morning and a Rushcliffe Civic Dinner at Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club on Friday evening.
