Nottinghamshire County Council Chairman Councillor John Handley has a number of engagements this week.

Wednesday will see the Chairman and Councillor John Cottee, Communities and Place Committee Chairman, attend the opening of Jacksdale Community Partnership Library.

Inspire has been working with the Jacksdale community to develop a sustainable library service. The community has been aware of the relocation and Community Partnership Library process throughout, as various locations have been discussed within them. The new library will open in The Dale Club at 2pm on 7 March.

Elsewhere, this afternoon (Mon) he will be at Brinsley Primary and Nursery School, in Moor Road, Brinsley, for the opening of a new classroom and reading workshop.

Due to rising numbers, the school has had the new classroom built for year 2 children. The Chairman and Lady will also meet parents attending the reading workshop which helps parents and carers learn useful skills to support their child’s reading at home.

Tomorrow (Tue), the Chairman will visit Portland College, in Nottingham Road, Mansfield, to meet with the Chairman Tim Richmond.

On Thursday morning there is a citizenship event at Bridgford Hall, and in the evening, Coun Handley and the Lady will attend a 20 years’ celebration of Hart’s Restaurant, in Park Row, Nottingham.

And a Ruby Anniversary Dinner for Nottingham Counselling Service takes place at Crown Plaza Hotel, in Wollaton Street, in Nottingham.
