Keeping kids entertained in Notts this half-term
With half term just round the corner, Nottinghamshire County Council are reminding parents and grandparents that there’s a jam-packed calendar of events and activities - all on their doorstep - to help keep youngsters entertained during next week’s school holidays.
Nottinghamshire County Councillor John Cottee, Chairman of Communities and Place committee said,
“With our culture, history and beautiful country parks, Nottinghamshire is great place for families to enjoy their half-term break.
“Sherwood Forest Country Park has some brilliant bird-themed activities planned to help celebrate National Nest Box Week, with booking essential, as places are in high demand.
“Half-term activities at the ever-popular Mill Adventure Base are now sold out, but there’s still plenty of events happening, particularly at the County’s libraries. And even better, these library events are free and there’s no need to book in advance – just turn up on the day.
“Residents are also being encouraged to share snaps of their half term adventures when out and about in the county.
“Look out for our selfie boards at Sherwood Forest and Rufford Abbey Country Parks, The Mill Adventure Base in Sutton in Ashfield and at Mansfield and Worksop libraries, snap a fun photo, tag the location and share on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #ExploreNotts.
“Or simply send us your scenic snap of all the other great places to visit in Nottinghamshire this half-term.”
Everyone who shares a photo with #ExploreNotts, will be entered into a prize draw to win a £30 voucher towards a meal at Clean Cut Kitchen on Derby Road, Nottingham.
