Heritage Day among Chairman’s engagements

09 July 2018

Nottinghamshire County Council Chairman Councillor Mrs Sue Saddington has another busy week of engagements this week.

She will be visiting Rufford Abbey Country Park on Wednesday, July 11, from 10am for a World War I Heritage Day being organised by Nottinghamshire County Council and the Nottinghamshire Heritage Forum.

The heritage event includes demonstrations, quizzes, competitions, storytelling and fascinating displays telling the story of life in Nottinghamshire during World War I.

It is part of a series of events and commemorations in Nottinghamshire to mark the centenary year of the end of the Great War (1914-1918).

Elsewhere, the Chairman will attend a county council Employee Memorial Event taking place at County Hall on Monday, where a bench will be unveiled.

The Chairman will be at a Mischief Makers: Summer Reading Challenge event at Worksop Library on Friday morning at 10am, and will be at the Commandery of King Offa event at Southwell Minster on Saturday afternoon at 2pm.
