The Minerals and Waste Development Scheme sets out the timetable for preparing the new documents which will make up the Nottinghamshire Minerals and Waste Development Framework. It looks ahead 3 years with indicative dates for plans which will not be completed until later. The current scheme came into effect on 21 June 2007 and can be viewed below.

This scheme is however very out of date and following further changes to the planning system in 2008 a proposed new scheme was submitted to Government in April 2009, following approval by the County Council at the meeting of the Cabinet on 1 April 2009. On 20 May 2009 the Secretary of State responded by issuing a holding direction allowing more time to consider the document.
The proposed new scheme can be viewed below:

Update on Progress March 2009
Waste Core Strategy -General public consultation on issues and options took place in late 2006. Further evidence gathering is being carried out with the view to identifying strategic waste management sites. Revised Issues and Options consultation is planned to commence by August 2009.
Minerals Core Strategy and Safeguarding Document - Evidence gathering is now underway and it is planned to commence general public consultation on issues and options by October 2009.
Monitoring the Minerals and Waste Development Scheme
The scheme is subject to annual monitoring via the Annual Monitoring Report which has to be submitted to Government by the end of each calendar year. Should this reveal significant changes to the timetable of a need to alter the range of Development Plan Documents to be prepared a new Scheme will be prepared and submitted to Government.
Updates will appear here.
