A-Z of how to recycle or dispose of your household waste

There are a whole host of items that can be recycled or disposed of at our Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs), also known as rubbish tips. In many cases small amounts can be recycled by the collections from your home or at local recycling banks.

There are also some items that cannot be taken to the HWRC, but needs specialist disposal, such as asbestos.

Dead animals	No	If you see a dead animal on the road in a place that could cause an accident, please contact your district council who will arrange for the animal to...
Duvets	Yes but not recycled	Duvets are not accepted by charity shops. Some district councils provide banks for clothing and other textiles.
DVDs	Yes but not recycled	DVDs in good condition can be donated to charity shops. Otherwise place them in your waste wheeled bin.
