Sherwood Forest

Be like Robin Hood and Maid Marian - get married in Sherwood Forest!

Though Robin and his love are said to have plighted their troth "beneath the greenwood tree", as yet it is not possible for couples to have a civil wedding ceremony in the open air. However, we can offer the next best thing - your civil wedding or partnership ceremony in the Oak Room at Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre, followed by a relaxed and enjoyable wedding reception in the nearby Forest Table Restaurant.

Register offices

We have register offices all over Nottinghamshire. They feature modern decor, and in many cases are located in or close to parks and other attractive features for those all-important photos. 

Churches and other religious buildings

Marriages taking place in a Church of England building will require you to contact the member of the clergy responsible for the church in which you wish to be married. For a marriage in any other religious building in Nottinghamshire you will still need to give your notice of intention to marry.
