Venue details
Newark Registration Office 2

The Gilstrap is a Gothic-style Victorian Grade II listed venue, which has been sympathetically refurbished to create two luxury ceremony rooms to host weddings, civil partnerships, naming ceremonies and other events.

The Salvin Suite, which will seat 100 guests, is a grand room with high ceilings, a wealth of original features and large romantic stained glass windows. The more intimate Library Room, with seating for 20 guests, also boasts high ceilings, original features and stained glass windows.

Following the ceremony, guests will be able to move out onto the beautiful Victorian ornamental garden area at the rear of The Gilstrap for photos. The gardens feature a bandstand and offer stunning views of Newark Castle

Please note: All Newark and Southwell area records of births, deaths and marriages are held at the Basford Registration Office, Highbury Road, Bulwell, Nottingham, NG6 9DA.

Newark area residents who need a certificate urgently, may continue to apply at the Newark Office. For all non-urgent requests, please apply in writing to the Basford Office in Bulwell.

Certificate enquiries can also be made directly to the Bulwell office by emailing certificates@nottscc.gov.uk.

Alternatively, telephone enquiries can be made by ringing 0300 500 8080.
