Free flu jabs for NCC employees: Postponed

Currently supplies of the flu jab are not yet fully established across England and as a result GP practices within Nottinghamshire County are experiencing delays in receiving their vaccine supply.

This means that available vaccine is currently being prioritised for those people in the community who are most vulnerable and are normally eligible for a free flu jab at their GP practice, that is: those over 65 years of age, in an “at risk group”, pregnant women and carers.

The NCC flu campaign for staff will therefore be postponed until further vaccines become available nationally and all employees are advised not to attend any of the County Council staff only clinics already advertised until further notice.

We will be monitoring the national situation through our colleagues in Public Health, until this is clear when clinic timetables for NCC employees will be refreshed and re-communicated.

Any employee who is themselves in one of the “vulnerable groups” who normally qualify for a free jab from their GP should contact their own GP direct.
