Revised Guidance and Pro-forma for time off requests for Trade Union duties

Please note that the guidance for managers for approving time off requests for trade union duties and the request pro-forma have now been updated and can be found at Appendix 5 of Section E7 Employee Relations Agreement in the Personnel Handbook. 

All requests for time off for trade union duties must be made on the revised form and formally approved by the relevant line manager with a copy of the pro-forma being sent to Gill Elder, HR Group Manager, County Hall, West Bridgford, Nottingham. 

Trade union officers with a fixed allowance for time off will not be required to complete the form for their office allocation but will need to for any time required over and above their current entitlement. 

Representatives are asked to make their requests in sufficient time to enable managers time to plan any necessary cover and to note that retrospective claims will not usually be approved.
