How to search for jobs

Searching

On the Jobs search page there are quick links which will show you:

  • all jobs currently available
  • all jobs that have been added in the last 7 days.

You can also search on the following fields:

  • Keywords e.g. job title, location, description or job reference
  • Occupational group e.g. IT, Clerical
  • Working pattern (Full time or part time).

You can search using these fields individually or as a combination. If you use more than one field you will make your search more precise but, in the process, may exclude jobs that might potentially be of interest.

Example: This search would display all current clerical, part time vacancies based in Mansfield.

  • Occupational group =  Clerical
  • Term = Part time
  • Keywords = Mansfield

Downloading an application pack

After clicking on the 'Download an application pack' link, you will be able to download an Application Form, Job Description, Person Specification and any other supporting information.

Click on the individual links one at a time.

The documents will be available in Word or PDF format or sometimes both.

Note: you can only download an application pack for NCC jobs with reference starting 'ESC'. For school-based vacancies and those listed under the Occupational Group 'Work with Community Organisations' individual application instructions must be followed.

Word application forms

Use this version if you are completing the application form on a computer.

You will need Microsoft Word on your computer to be able to read a Word document. If you don't then there is a link on the Application Pack webpage to download a Word reader. When you click on a link for a Word document you will be given the choice of opening or saving the document. We would advise you save the document on your computer and then open it up from there.

Once you have completed the application form on a computer ensure you have saved it as a Word document. The filename should end in .doc. You can then send your completed application to e-mail: jobs@nottscc.gov.uk.

Please note: Ensure you attach the application form and any other supporting documents correctly to your e-mail. If we cannot read your attachment, we may be unable to proceed with your application.

We will confirm receipt of your e-mail and all attached documents to the sending e-mail address - please tell us if you would like to be informed by telephone.

PDF application forms

Use this version if you want to print the application form off and complete it by hand. You cannot complete this version on a computer.

You will need Adobe Acrobat reader on your computer to be able to read a PDF document. If you don't have the reader there is a link on the Application Pack web page to download it. When you click on a link for a PDF document it will open automatically and then you can print it out, if required.

Once you have completed the application form using black ink, please post it to:

Employee Services Centre
Nottinghamshire County Council
County Hall
West Bridgford
Nottingham
NG2 7QP

Other documentation - The job description, person specification and other supporting material is for your reference only to assist in your application and does not require you to complete any details. You can therefore choose either the Word or PDF document, if they are available.
