Arts Service

Learning can be enhanced and developed through a creative approach and the Arts Service seeks to advocate arts as an integral tool to learning and personal development and to facilitate new relationships between schools and artists.

What we offer:

  • Bookable school visits to Rufford Craft Centre with artists workshops linked to curriculum and/or Ofsted requirements.
  • Provision of teachers resources for arts activities at Rufford Craft Centre and in the classroom.
  • Facilitating links to professional arts practitioners for use in school and at Rufford Craft Centre.
  • Arts Award welcome support at Rufford Craft Centre
  • Provision of Arts Award and Arts Mark training for Nottinghamshire schools
  • CPD Arts training for primary and secondary schools, including inset
  • CPD training and support for Big Draw
  • Education and arts emailing list to keep you informed about Arts Service activities and opportunities
  • Changing gallery programme of exhibitions and exclusive access for school groups on Mondays

Costs:

As our offer is bespoke, prices vary. A typical day at Rufford with an artist, for 60 pupils, costs between £250-£300.

Training:

  • We offer a variety of training: Creative artist led CPD, Big Draw, Arts Award, Arts Mark and bespoke Inset events.
  • Training on arts techniques, creativity and engagement, sharing practice and ideas for engagement. Advice on running a Big Draw at school, including developing drawing as a tool for engagement. Becoming an Arts Award Advisor to run the programme in school. Preparing and applying for Arts Mark status.
  • Training delivered by Arts service and professional artists and Arts Award/Arts Mark Trainers.
  • Various venues around the county, including at Rufford or your school.
  • For all schools - teaching/support staff.
