What is sQuid?
Following a successful trial in a number of Nottinghamshire schools, Nottinghamshire County Council have teamed up with sQuid to roll out and install cashless catering payment systems in our schools.
A cashless catering system means that instead of paying in cash for any meals and snacks at the school canteen, your child will use a biometric identification system to pay for their transactions. So, when they get to the till all they’ll do is press their thumb on a small reader which will identify them and bring their details up on the till.
The cook will then enter the purchase as normal, but instead of handing over any cash, the sum will be deducted from your online account.
If your child’s school is going cashless you will receive an introduction letter from the school. This will inform you of the process and also detail your unique 16 digit sQuid registration and security codes.
All you need to do is log on to website: www.squidcard.com/ncc to register. You will be asked to enter a few details to set up your account, along with your registration and security codes.
Win £50
