Membership

Membership to a Saturday Morning Performing Arts Centre must be paid for by 3.00pm on Wednesday 5 June 2013 in order for students to start on Saturday 8 June 2013.

Notts Performing Arts offers exciting and high quality arts opportunities for young people aged 7-19 in year 3 and above, who want to develop their skills in performing arts. Students take part in a choice of music, drama and dance workshops and rehearsal and a variety of performance opportunities.

Students will have the opportunity to work with exceptional teaching staff and world class professional artists and musicians.  We offer opportunities for all abilities and a choice of attending one of the Performing Arts Centres and/or gaining a place in one of the Performing Arts Companies through an audition process.

Saturday Performing Arts Centres

Our Performing Arts Centres open on Saturday Mornings to all abilities. Students can try out a vast range of activities exploring different types of music, theatre and dance and can then create their own timetable of the activities they most enjoy, developing creative skills in a wide range of performing arts activities. Students also get the chance to showcase their skills at the end of each term. More about our performing arts centres.

Performing Arts Companies

Students in year 5 and above can audition for the training band and string group. Students in year 7 and above can audition for all our Performing Arts Companies. Students at our Saturday Performing Arts Centres may be invited to audition by one of our teachers. Any student can request an audition for a place within a Performing Arts Company when they feel they are ready for the challenge. More about our performing arts companies.

Students will:

  • learn creative skills
  • get the chance to perform
  • increase your confidence
  • make new friends
  • meet and work with professional artists and musicians
  • attend professional performances
  • work towards a Bronze, Silver or Gold  Arts Award
  • get advice on a career in the arts
  • be signposted to other arts opportunities
