Borrowing and reservations
Adults can now borrow 5 eBooks from Nottinghamshire Libraries for loan periods from 1 day up to 3 weeks (21 days).
The previous £1.00 charge has now been scrapped and eBooks are now available free of charge.
In order to use this service you must be a UK resident and be a member of Nottinghamshire Libraries. Due to content restrictions, our service cannot be accessed from outside of the UK. You will need to know your library card number and pin number to log on.
Downloads are available for most eReader devices (but not Kindles). All titles must be downloaded onto your PC or Mac before being transferred to your reader.
Although eBooks are not physical books, licensing arrangements mean that we are not able to allow multiple downloads of the same eBook without purchasing additional copies.
When you borrow books you will be able to determine how long you want to have them on loan: from 1 to 21 days. Because of the licensing arrangements, books cannot be returned prior to the end of the loan period selected.
It is possible to reserve books which are currently on loan. If you leave your e-mail address with the reservation you will be alerted as soon as the title become available.
Once a reserved book become available, you have 3 days to download it, at which point the eBook is offered to the next reservation or returns to our eBook stock to be accessed by other users.
