Your new library

West Bridgford Library is now open after a major £5.3m re-development.

The new, larger and enhanced library also houses a new young people's centre and a register office, while the ceremony room in the existing register office site in Central Avenue remains in operation.

Your new library has been transformed into a fun and inspiring place to be. It is open every day with something for the whole family to enjoy

On its opening weekend, around 8,000 people visited the new library, four times the level expected for a normal weekend.

The flagship West Bridgford Library development is the latest in the county council’s plan to continue to invest, develop and remodel its existing libraries to be able to continue to serve traditional library users and meet the demand for digital services and reach out to new audiences.

Getting ready

As the opening date approached, library staff were busy getting the library ready.
