Who we are
The Education Library Service is a subscription service for schools, day nurseries and education support services in Nottinghamshire and Nottingham City.
If you want to borrow books from the Education Library Service, your school will need to subscribe to our resources service. If you are unsure whether your school has bought in, or would like any further information, please contact us.

You can also view our recommended books lists, detailing our pick of the best new books.
Borrowing resources
Available resources
We can support your curriculum needs and help you to develop lifelong readers by providing an extensive selection of resources. You can choose from around 330,000 items, including:
- Picture books
- Novels
- Information books
- Spoken word CDs
- DVDs
- Posters
- Resource packs
- Big books
- Large print books
- Picture books in over 25 languages with dual English text
CDs/DVDs
ELS has recently agreed with Scholastic that we can stock some of their CD-roms. These include some DVD material. Schools who borrow this material will need to remove the software from their PCs when they return the CD-rom to ELS, as otherwise this would infringe copyright. The CD-roms can be borrowed as part of the school's loan collection.
