Lunchtime Talk - Understanding Nottinghamshire’s Churches
Our popular Lunchtime Talk series returns in 2012. This year all our talks focus on the theme of architecture.
The Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham has more than 300 churches, many of them mediaeval, which have to be read from the architecture of the period before any documentary sources survive.
Professor John Beckett, Chair and History editor of the Southwell and Nottingham Church History Project, explores the documentary sources which can be used to reconstruct the history of our churches.
