Council plans and policies

As part of our commitment to be open and transparent, all of our policies and strategies are available through a policy library.

The County Council's work is shaped by three key strategies. Each strategy plays a different role in how we work.

Council Plan

Our Council Plan, entitled The Nottinghamshire Plan, sets out our commitments over the next four years that show how we will play our part in working towards the healthy, prosperous and greener future that all our communities deserve.

Constitution

The Constitution sets out how the Council operates, how decisions are made and the procedures which are followed to ensure that these are efficient, transparent and accountable to local people. Some of these processes are required by the law, while others are a matter for the Council to choose.

The Constitution is split into six parts:

  • Part 1 - Introduction
  • Part 2 - Policy Framework
  • Part 3 -Transparency; Access to information and meetings
  • Part 4 - Accountability; Responsibility for functions
  • Part 5 - Democracy; Procedures
  • Part 6 - Governance.
