As well as development opportunities provided to all council employees, graduate trainees also have access to additional support.

The purpose of the Programme is to develop a broad range of leadership and management skills to give you the opportunity to quickly move into an appropriate role at the end of the Programme.

From your first day with us, you are encouraged to start your learning journey.

You immediately gain access to our learning and development system and a wealth of training and career development information.

You are also signed up to a management apprenticeship, including an outline of your two years of learning and development.

This is all before you start your on-the-job learning in your first placement a few days later.

Support is provided throughout so that you achieve your Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management.

You will gain experience across the six-month placements.

These will help you develop key skills and competences in areas such as project management, budget management, leading/managing others, and much more.
