The Council issued a Section 188 Notice on 1 December 2015 listing 182.21 posts potentially at risk of redundancy as part of the County Council’s budget proposals. Of the total posts at risk, 75.32 FTE are already vacant.

Posts affected in each department include:

This Notice reflects potential redundancies arising from falling grant income and increased demand for services across the Council; resulting in a budget shortfall of £62m over the next three years.

The publication of the Notice marks the start of a statutory minimum 45-day consultation period with employees and the trade unions on the proposals, and in some areas, consultation will continue beyond the end of this period.
