Adventure land activities
Rock Climbing
Taking place on the natural cliffs of the Derbyshire Peak District, participants learn the basic skills and techniques as they climb the rock outcrops ranging in height from 5 metres to 30 metres.
Caving
Caving takes place in Derbyshire, exploring underground in the natural caverns, and former lead mines. Wellington boots are the ideal footwear and are provided along with an over-suit, helmet and lamp.
Orienteering
Orienteering involves travelling on foot and reading a map to find the pre placed markers.
All Terrain Biking
This generally takes place in the forests of Nottinghamshire, or on the trails of the Peak District. Bikes and helmets are provided.
Climbing Wall
Learn the basics and practice the techniques of climbing on the artificial wall at the Mill or one of the local indoor climbing walls.
High Ropes
The high ropes course at the Mill has three challenges, which all take place above the ground with the protection of a safety rope. The Jacobs Ladder involves three people working together to get to the top, whereas the Pamper Pole is more of a personal challenge.
Artificial Caving
Explore the dark, individually and as a team, through a maze of concrete tunnels, many games and challenges can be set, which add to the excitement.
Hill Walking
This can range from a gentle stroll along the Derbyshire Dales, to a major undertaking of completing the three highest peaks on mainland Britain.
Adventure Games
Climb through a spiders web, cross a crocodile infested river, or form a human knot, great for teamwork, co-operation, communication skills and problem solving.
Dry Multi
A combination of all the dry activities at the Mill, great for a taster session.
