The County Contact points offer:

• advice and information on all Council services and those of partner organisations
• one-to-one advice from one of our trained and helpful advisors
• confidentiality
• assistance with form completion and verification of documents

County Contact points have loop systems, provide access in over 100 languages and can arrange for a BSL interpreter to be present if you require.

All are conveniently situated and work in partnership with many organisations including: Borough/District Councils; Primary Care Trusts - to assist with health care enquiries; and the Pensions Service (Department of Work and Pensions) - to offer advice and information on pensions.

Regular advice surgeries are held by Welfare Rights, The Deaf Society and Shelter -

Retford and Worksop County Contacts are involved in the Help Point network - a network of video access points across Bassetlaw where you can contact our advisors directly from your local community centre or village hall.

Advice officers hold drop in surgeries at different locations across the county. Weekly surgeries are currently held at St Georges Centre, Netherfield (Tuesday 9.30am to 12.30pm) Harworth Council Offices (Thursday 10am to 1pm) and "Under one Roof", Hucknall (Tuesday and Thursday 9.30am-4.30pm)

Mobile Rural Contact Point

Serving the rural communities of Bassetlaw and Newark and Sherwood, County Contact Advisors are able to give information and advice on council services (County and District) and the Police. The mobile contact point travels throughout the two Districts spending a few hours in each village on a rota basis.
