The Overview and Scrutiny Committee conducted a strategic examination of equalities to ensure that council policies and services do not discriminate.

The review examined:

  • the requirements placed on public bodies by equalities legislation
  • the county council's service diversity reviews and
  • member involvement with equality issues.
