Made up of councillors from Nottinghamshire County Council and Nottingham City Council, the joint health committee ensures accountability and a wider community engagement in health issues across the conurbation.The committee scrutinises developments in local NHS services and helps to ensure the delivery of local health services.
This includes:
- Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust
- Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust
- Nottingham Primary Care Trust (PCT) and Nottinghamshire teaching Primary Care Trust (tPCT).
The joint committee also responds to findings from the Annual Health Checks with the local NHS trusts.
There are 8 County Councillors on the 16 member Joint Health committee (the County Council and Nottingham City Council have eight seats each with County Councillor Mel Shepherd taking the Chair until the end of April.)
