Our vision and values

The County Council’s vision for Nottinghamshire is to make Nottinghamshire a better place.

We want to continue to make Nottinghamshire a County that is:

We want to improve life for individuals and communities.

Working with our partner organisations, we set clear objectives for ourselves and our communities and work alongside partners and local people to achieve them.

We will find efficient and effective ways of doing the right things for Nottinghamshire

As individuals and as an organisation, we want to keep on getting better, achieving the things we set out to do, delivering value for money and learning from experiences

Engaged

We will fully involve our local communities and our customers as we plan and deliver our work.

Through strong local democracy, through consultation and through collecting feedback we will gather the views of local people, and listen and respond to what they say to us.

To make Nottinghamshire a better place we need to work with a number of local organisations. To improve people’s health we need to work with local health services. To make people feel safer we need the support of the police. This is why we work in partnership on a number of our projects because by working together we are all together better at achieving more for our County.

Working in partnership is also the way forward. From 2009 the Government will be assessing how councils, health services, and the police are playing their part in making their area a better place through the new Comprehensive Area Agreements.

We rely on our employees who together make the difference for everyone who uses County Council services. Our employees help to shape the way you feel about your local County Council services because they are often the first people you come into contact with. It’s their commitment which helps the County Council to deliver quality services.
