100th birthday and diamond wedding anniversary messages
Since 1917, The Sovereign has sent congratulatory messages to those celebrating their 100th and 105th birthdays and every birthday thereafter, and to those celebrating their Diamond Wedding (60th), 65th, 70th wedding anniversaries and every year thereafter.
The Queen’s congratulatory messages consist of a card containing a personalised message with a facsimile signature. The card is sent in a special envelope, which is delivered through the normal channels.
Buckingham Palace issues application forms to assist members of the public who wish to arrange for a message of congratulations to be sent in accordance with the above pattern. Forms may be requested by telephoning the Anniversaries Office at Buckingham Palace on tel: 0207 930 4832, or by writing to The Anniversaries Office, Buckingham Palace, London SW1A 1AA. There is also information on the British Monarchy website at: www.royal.gov.uk/HMTheQueen/Queenandanniversarymessages/Anniversarymessages.aspx
100th birthday messages:
- It should be noted that a copy of the celebrant’s birth certificate, which will be returned in due course, is required. A good photocopy is quite sufficient.
Diamond wedding anniversary messages:
- A copy of the celebrants' marriage certificate, which will be returned in due course is required, and again a good photocopy is quite sufficient.
