This is the timetable for the County Council election on Thursday 5 May 2005.

Friday 11 March	Deadline for registering to vote
Thursday 7 April	Deadline for election candidates to register
Monday 11 April	Lists of candidates published
Tuesday 19 April	Last day to change details of existing postal votes
Tuesday 26 April	Last day to register for a new postal vote
	Lists of Polling Stations published
	Ballot papers begin to be sent out
Wednesday 27 April	Last day to make alterations to the Electoral Register to correct a clerical error.
Wednesday 4 May	Last day to issue replacement, spoilt or lost ballot papers
Thursday 5 May	Election day - polling stations open between 7am and 10pm
Friday 6 May	Election result announced
Monday 9 May	New council takes office.

If you need to:

• check if you are on the Electoral Register
• correct errors on the Electoral Register
• register for a postal vote
• change details of your postal vote
• replace your ballot papers

then you must contact the Electoral Registration Officer at your district council. They are responsible for organising the election.
