Community resource centres

We are supporting community regeneration activity in Nottinghamshire by encouraging the sustainable development of a range of what collectively can be called community resource centres. Such places vary in scale, scope and ambition across the county but all have common themes of:

• Offering a “one-stop shop” for services and advice
• Developing self-reliance, independence and community-based regeneration activity
• Providing high quality facilities which engender pride and support and allow local communities to make things happen.

The Economic Regeneration service offers a range of support to different centres across Nottinghamshire, including:

• feasibility and needs analysis
• technical development support – either directly or commissioned
• financial support
• business planning.

Such support is available to independently run and managed centres, not those run by statutory agencies.
