Information for learners

Learners

Last year ACLS ran, with its partners, 1414 courses, using 358 venues with just over 10,500 learners taking part in courses.

For details of what you can expect on an ACLS course, what we expect from you, course fees, equality and diversity and a range of other information please view our Learner Handbook [PDF 277KB]pdf logo.

This section also gives details of the role of Learner Focus Groups how learners can join one and some of the things the Service has changed as a result of the feedback they have received from Learner Focus Groups.

We also have links to the websites of some of our larger providers.

Learner focus groups

ACLS welcomes the views of learners, we gather information about the quality of learning from you through the Learner Evaluation Form.

Over the last few years ACLS has also run a number of Learner Focus Groups.

The groups have enabled ACLS to focus on different aspects of ACLS courses, for example, the enrolment process.

Learner Focus Groups help us improve the quality of our teaching and learning by giving us feedback on ACLS and enabling us to provide more detailed feedback to the organisations that provide learning for us and to the tutors who teach on them.

The end result should be that improvements are made so that learners have a better learning experience.

Getting involved

If you would like to take part in a Focus Group, please tick the appropriate box on the Learner Evaluation Form or contact ACLS.

Learners taking part in focus group meetings receive payment in kind for their participation.

Groups are facilitated by ACLS staff.

ACLS provides focus group members with details of any actions to be taken as a result of their feedback.
