Nottingam Railway Improvement
All the track and signals at Nottingham station are life expired and need replacing by Network Rail during 2010/11. The existing layout is cramped and causes frequent delays to trains as they approach Nottingham. The £19 million renewal project would increase capacity, flexibility and speeds so that the layout could cope more reliably with more trains.
Nottinghamshire County Council and Nottingham City Council are making the case to the Office of Rail Regulation to fund this much needed improvement. Below is a link to an initial draft of the detailed technical case that we will be submitting on 4th September. Once completed the final case will be put on this web page.
