Valentines fair

Valentine's Fair posterNottinghamshire County Council and Rushcliffe Borough Council held a Valentines Fair on Saturday 9th of February 2008. The fair celebrated the completion of a £750,000 environmental improvement scheme in West Bridgford along Rectory Road, from the junction with Bridgford Road through Tudor Square, Gordon Road to Gordon Square.

The scheme, which has been funded by both Rushcliffe Borough Council and Nottinghamshire County Council, was been carried out to boost the number of residents and visitors using West Bridgford's shops, cafes, bars and leisure facilities including parks.

Work started in September 2007 and was completed in February 2008.

Nottinghamshire County Council and Rushcliffe Borough Council held the Valentines Fair to thank shoppers, residents and traders for their patience and support during the improvement works that have taken place and to boost trade.

Approximately 14 stalls were set up within Gordon Square, outside the Test Match Pub, selling Valentine themed gifts and offering free samples of food. There was also street entertainment.
