Highway planning

We are responsible for highway planning matters within Nottinghamshire, except the motorway and trunk roads. Motorcycle strategy

Our motorcycle strategy [PDF 101KB] pdf logo sets out our strategy for all powered two-wheel vehicles, including mopeds, motorcycles and scooters during the period 2006/07-2010/11.  It complements the information contained in the Greater Nottingham and North Nottinghamshire Local Transport Plans 2006/07-2010/11. The Highway Design Guide

Our Highway Design Guide sets out the general principles and minimum standards for the layout and dimensions of highways and paved areas in residential and industrial developments for which we are the Highway Authority. Travel plans

Travel plans are aimed at promoting more sustainable travel to work by offering realistic transport choices. A travel plan is not anti-car, but instead emphasises the travel choices available.

Beacon status

In 2008/9 we were proud to be awarded Beacon Status for Improving Accessibility jointly with Nottingham City Council, building upon our previous Beacon status for Better Access and Mobility received in 2002. This is an extremely prestigious award which recognises the achievements we have made in helping local people access work, learning, health leisure and shopping.
