The County Council is committed to providing a better, safer and more flexible transport system to tackle the problems of congestion and pollution on local roads.

The Council's road schemes aim to improve safety and reduce accidents, as well as improve routes for users of the highway. By making these travel options safer and easier, we hope that more and more people will see them as a realistic alternative to the car, therefore reducing congestion and pollution in Nottinghamshire.

The road schemes are funded by the Local Transport Plan – the blueprint for better travel and transport in Nottinghamshire. This year, the county has been awarded £28m of Government money to invest in local travel and transport.

The Mansfield and Ashfield Regeneration Route is a new £30 million road between Pleasley and Rainworth. The road is the single biggest ever regeneration project set up by the County Council.

Other examples of planned and completed schemes can be found on our transport improvements page.
