Walk to School Week

Walk to School Week events are held in May and October each year to highlight the fun and healthy alternative to using the car. The benefits of walking to school are numerous and it also creates a great opportunity for children to learn vital road safety skills.

If you would like to take part in Walk to School Week we can provide:

  • posters to advertise the event
  • stickers for all the children who walk
  • colourful posters to record how children travel

And whenever possible, a member of the road safety team will visit the school during the event to offer support.

Walk to School Week Dates

The events for 2008 will be during the weeks commencing Monday 19th May and Monday 6th October. If you would like more information, or would like resources to use during the event please contact your local school travel plan officer using the details shown below.

The number of Nottinghamshire schools taking part in Walk to School Week has doubled in the past 4 years, underlining that Nottinghamshire children are more aware of the benefits of walking to school.
