Standards for day services
You can expect:
- To be involved in the preparation of your 'care plan'. This is a record of the help you are assessed as needing. You will be given a copy of the plan in a format that suits you, for example in Braille, on audio tape or in translation
- A review of your service within 12 weeks and once a year after that. You can ask for a review at any time if you feel your needs have changed
- To be told the arrangements for and the cost of transport to the day service
- To be provided with information about other services that may be available to you, including services from other organisations such as health, housing and benefits advice
- To have car parking space, if you are a blue badge holder attending the service
- To be provided with an environment that you can use as easily as possible (e.g. with wheelchair access)
- To spend your time in day services free from harrassment
- That staff will be trained and supported so that they can carry out their jobs properly. They will have written procedures and policies for the services they provide
- To be asked for your comments on the day service, at least once a year. You will be told about any changes that are made as a result of your comments
- To be able to take part in a formal committee or service user group if you attend a day service.
To help staff to do their jobs well and safely, please:
- Treat staff with courtesy and respect
- Understand that the law required day service to provide a safe workplace for staff. For example, staff have to follow certain rules for lifting people. We look for your co-operation.
