Aiming for Excellence is the name of the project to improve care services for older people in Nottinghamshire. Over the next few years we will be working to modernise our:

What’s happened so far?

Investment – councillors have agreed to invest over £19 million in new facilities plus an extra £700,000 a year to run them. For full details of the plans download the Aiming for Excellence newsletter or see the press release.

Information – we have produced a new leaflet about extra care to help explain what it means and how you can access it. Contact us for copies or download a copy yourself.

Visits - we are arranging trips for local people to new and existing facilities to help them learn more about our plans. Mansfield Pensioners Action Group have already visited an extra care scheme in Rushcliffe to find out what is involved. Contact us if you are interested in finding out more.

Talks – staff from the county council are visiting local older people groups to explain about the plans. Get in touch if you would like to arrange for someone to visit your group.

Consultation – we are actively looking for older people to give us their views on how services should be run. You can let us know your views directly or take part in one of our focus groups.

Planning – we are working with other local councils and health authorities to build new facilities across Nottinghamshire.

You can find out more about the issues above and everything else that is happening with the project in the Aiming for Excellence newsletters:

Consultation feedback

In early 2008 Nottinghamshire County Council carried out a large consultation exercise to find out what people thought about the plans for the future of older peoples services. If you took part in the consultation we’d really appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to fill in our questionnaire about it. Your answers will help us to see what went well, what didn’t work and how we can improve our consultations in the future.
Download the questionnaire [WORD 52KB].
