Lunch clubs

Lunch clubs are an informal opportunity for people to get together at a local venue. They are for people aged 65 and over.

A cooked lunch will usually be followed by recreational activities such as cards, games and so on. Many lunch clubs are able to cater for special diets.

Most lunch clubs are run by volunteers, often using premises such as church halls.

A lunch club is not the same as day care, it doesn't offer the staffing or facilities to be found in day care.

Some lunch clubs are for particular ethnic, religious or cultural groups.

The majority of lunch clubs operate one or two days per week.
