This scheme only applies to adults living in Ashfield, Bassetlaw, Mansfield and Newark & Sherwood.
What is the scheme?
We give you small items of equipment that make everyday living tasks much easier.
Examples of tasks the everyday living equipment can help with include:
- picking things off the floor
- using cutlery
- getting on and off the toilet.
What everyday living equipment is available?
Some of the items available are:
- kettle tipper
- special cutlery
- helping hand
- toilet frames.
How can we help?
We can help if:
- using a small item of equipment helps you to live independently at home
- you are aged 18 or over and
- you live in Ashfield, Bassetlaw, Mansfield or Newark & Sherwood.
This equipment is available free of charge.
How do I apply?
You simply have to answer a few straightforward questions about everyday living at home. We can then assess what equipment you need.
You can answer these questions in several ways.
Telephone
Call one of our service advisers and talk to them about the help you need. If you prefer, the service adviser will take your number and call you back. You can also ask the service adviser to send you a form to fill in at home and return to us.
Write to us
Write to our Occupational Therapy team asking for a form. They will then send you a copy to fill in and post back to us.

If you send us an email we can email you a form back that you can print, fill in and return to us.
What happens next?
Once we have your completed form we will decide what equipment we can provide you with at home. We will ring you the next working day after we receive the form to:
- Check any details we are unsure of
- Discuss how to deliver any equipment to you.
