Healthier communities
Who are we?
The Healthier Communities Service is part of the drive to tackle health inequalities and improve health and well-being across Nottinghamshire.
The service works at a strategic level to narrow the health-gap between disadvantaged groups and communities across Nottinghamshire, as well as improving health and well-being in the general population.
We work across all departments of Nottinghamshire County Council and with partners in public health.
We have a direct input into the Local Area Agreement, Corporate Health group and Health Partnerships across the county.
What are we doing?
Our current areas of focus include:
- tobacco control
- tackling obesity
- avoidable injuries
- tackling alcohol misuse
- improving sexual health
- improving mental health.
