Going to a Day Service

What do day services offer?

Lots of different things:

  • Activities in the community using local facilities
  • Person centred plans
  • Support with college courses at the day centre or at the local college
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Help to get employment and training
  • Work experience
  • Sport and fitness
  • Arts, crafts and drama
  • Advice and information
  • Meeting your personal needs
  • Making Friends

If you have ideas about the sort of help you need. We will do our best to get it for you.

How do I get the service?

Please contact your local Community Learning Disability Team (CLDT). Somebody will talk to you to find out if you can receive our services. This is called an assessment.

Where do services take place?

There are eight day services in Nottinghamshire:

  • Beck Meadow Day Service - Arnold
  • Barncroft Day Service - Beeston
  • Whitewater Day Service - Ollerton
  • Friary Service - Newark
  • Redoaks Day Service - Rainworth
  • Willow Wood Day Service - Sutton in Ashfield
  • Greenacre Day Service - Worksop

What does it cost?

You only pay for:

  • Any transport we provide
  • Any snacks or meals you buy at the centre
  • Any community activities you might want to take part in

We now charge £2.10 per day for transport to and from the day service.

We charge £2.30 if you have a meal at the centre.

How much time do I have to spend at the centre?

Some people go 5 days a week, others only for 1 day.

It depends on the help you need, we will agree what is right for you.
