Ask a Librarian - Nottinghamshire County Council
Welcome to Nottinghamshire Enquire
Enquire instantly connects you to a librarian in Nottinghamshire who is trained to help you find the answers to your questions.
Simply enter your details and your question, then press 'Connect'. Another browser window opens for the chat session
Enquire is a UK collaborative of over 80 public libraries throughout England and Scotland.
We will endeavour to answer your question immediately but with more complex enquiries we may need to take your details and come back to you. When no local librarian is free the service is staffed by librarians elsewhere in the UK or in a specialist centre in the U.S.A. In that case, it is unlikely, if you are asking a local question, that any of the librarians will immediately be familiar with your area.
Why should I enter my email?
At the end of your session, if you’ve entered an email address a transcript of the session will be emailed to you (including links). If you have elected not to enter an email address, you can fill in details at the end to send the session to yourself.
If we need to conduct further research and get back to you later, it is important we have your email. You can choose to remain anonymous, but an email answer will not get back to you.
Why do I need to enter my postcode?
Not all library authorities in England and Scotland participate in the service. If you enter your postcode, we can see which authority you belong to, and if they participate in the service your question can be forwarded directly to them so there is no need for you to contact them directly, we can do that for you. If your authority does not participate, we will only be able to give you contact details.
Session Feedback
At the end of the session, a survey will appear. To help us make the service better, we welcome all feedback, please if possible add any comments regarding your session, as this is extremely helpful.
