Your Library

Babies love books and every library has:

  • a range of board books especially designed for babies and toddlers including picture books, lift the flap books, nursery rhymes and books with interesting textures for little fingers to explore and there's no charge if books gets damaged
  • stories and rhymes on cassette. Babies love Rhymes! Why not try these rhymes with your baby?
  • toys to play with.

Most libraries have a parents collection containing books of special interest to parents and carers to help with early learning, dealing with new experiences and childcare.

Some libraries have DVDs for which there is a small charge.

Many libraries have regular Rattle, Rhyme and Roll sessions for children under four years old and storytimes for children under five years old - everyone is welcome and there is nothing to pay. Some libraries have toddler sessions.

Your child is never too young to join the library. There is no age limit - in fact the sooner the better! You can even join online.
