Make a difference - nominate a club of your choice to win the Nottinghamshire Sports Club of the Year

Closing date  24 November 2008.

Nominations are open to any club that holds ClubMark accreditation, if applicable or national governing body equivalent, or a national disabiltiy sports organisation. Anyone who feels that a club is worthy of a nomination can nominate. You can make a big difference by recognising the hard work, creativity and commitment of a voluntary club.

The winning club will exhibit all or some of the characteristics below and be able to demonstrate them through work, developments and achievements predominantly in 2008. Though some consideration in the area of sustainability, quality and vision will be given to the history of the club.

Please not the criteria below are prompts.  You do not have to comment on them all if it is not appropriate.

  1. A club for the future  A club that is recognised internally and externally for contined development with it's vision and the bigger picture in mind.
  2. Development/sustainability of the club - Outline of the work that the club has achieved and how the club has developed from November 2007 to October 2008.
  3. An innovative club - A club that leads the way, generating ideas which it is confidently able to follow through.
  4. A community club - A club which gives back energy, expertise or resource into whatever community it serves, whether that is as a hub of a sporting/sports development structure or a resource for the local community.
  5. A quality club - A club providing sport of the highest standard, demonstrated by a dedicated and proud membership, offering reward, recognition and development to it's volunteers.

While a large club is acknowledged as having both an advantage in resourcing and a disadvantage in communicating and implementing new initiatives, the Club and Volunteer Development Group envisage that clubs of all levels and sizes will be equally considered for the award.

The club performers do not necessarily have to be performing at a high level.
