Health walks at Rufford Country Park
Look after your health, meet people and get out in the fresh air! Our series of short health walks are fun, free and open to all.
Who are Health Walks For?
Anyone who is looking for a gently-paced walk as part of a small, friendly group.
Set in the attractive location of Rufford Abbey Country Park, these regular ranger led walks are a great way to build up your confidence and general fitness after a period of illness. They're also ideal for people seeking gentle exercise in safe surroundings rather than a challenging cross country hike.
Each walk is led by a trained health walk leader. Routes are designed to avoid steep slopes or taxing terrain, and the pace is relaxed. They're suitable for wheelchair users and push chairs, and dogs are welcome (on a lead please).
Walks last around one hour, and are followed by tea/coffee and biscuits.
What Shall I Wear?
No need for any special gear or clothing - just check the weather forecast and dress to match, including comfortable footwear. And don't let a spot of drizzle put you off - our walks will go ahead in all but the most extreme weather conditions
When Do Walks Take Place?
Rufford Health Walks take place every Monday (except Bank Holidays) and start at 2pm. Meet in the Craft Centre Courtyard, Rufford Abbey
